Political Parties in Norway in Norwegian

1 Høyre (The Right-wing Party)

This is Norway’s largest right-wing political party and is generally regarded as a center-right party. The party promotes individual liberties, free market principles, improving the conditions for Norwegian companies and industries, and smaller government.

 

2 Arbeiderpartiet (The Labour Party) 

Norway’s largest left-wing political party has long been the dominant force in Norwegian politics. The party advocates for social equality, worker rights, and a robust welfare state.

 

3 Fremskrittspartiet (The Progress Party)

This is a populist right-wing party that was founded in the 1970s. The party is well-known for its stance on immigration and border control, as well as its support for tax cuts and reduced government spending.

 

4 Senterpartiet (The Centre Party)

This is a centrist political party with rural roots in Norway. The party is dedicated to rural development and the devolution of power from the federal government to local communities.

 

5 Venstre (The Liberal Party) 

This is a center-right political party founded in the mid-nineteenth century. The party advocates for individual liberties, equality, environmental sustainability, and social justice.

 

6 Kristelig Folkeparti (The Christian Democratic Party)

This is a center-right political party with a sizable Christian religious voter base. The party promotes traditional family values and a robust welfare state.

 

7 Sosialistisk Venstreparti (The Socialist Left Party)

This left-wing political party promotes social justice, workers’ rights, and environmental sustainability. The party is well-known for its strong stance on equality, peace, and human rights issues.

 

8 Miljøpartiet De Grønne (The Green Party)

This political party is dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and reducing the negative environmental impact of human activity. In addition, the party supports social justice, equality, and human rights.

 

9 Rødt (The Red Party)

This is a far-left political party dedicated to advancing socialism and workers’ rights. The party advocates for environmental sustainability, equality, peace, and human rights.
