Business Norwegian and Business English Courses for Finansforbundet – Tailored Language Training for the Finance Sector
Finansforbundet is Norway’s largest trade union for professionals working in finance, insurance, and banking. With a strong commitment to competence development and inclusive workplace environments, the organization recognizes the importance of solid language skills in a sector where precision, professionalism, and clear communication are essential.
In partnership with NLS Norwegian Language School, Finansforbundet has provided its members with tailored Business Norwegian and Business English courses designed specifically for professionals within the financial industry. These courses were adapted to reflect the vocabulary, communication styles, and cultural expectations found in Norwegian and international finance-related workplaces.
The Business Norwegian course focused on helping participants gain confidence in using professional Norwegian in real-life work situations such as writing reports and emails, participating in meetings, making presentations, and handling customer dialogue. Special attention was given to terms and expressions used in banking, insurance, and finance, enabling participants to communicate precisely and effectively in a Norwegian-speaking professional context.
The Business English course was equally customized to the needs of professionals working in finance. The program strengthened participants’ ability to write clearly in English, participate in international meetings, and understand financial terminology in an English-speaking business environment. Topics included client communication, financial reporting, compliance language, and intercultural communication.
Both courses were taught by experienced instructors with backgrounds in finance and professional language training. The content was developed in close collaboration with Finansforbundet to ensure it aligned with members’ day-to-day tasks and communication challenges.
