Norwegian Language Courses Funded by NAV – Empowering Foreign Residents in Norway through Practical Language Training
NAV (Arbeids- og velferdsetaten) plays a crucial role in supporting integration and employment across Norway. One of their key initiatives is to help foreign residents build the skills they need to participate actively in Norwegian society and working life. As part of this mission, NAV has funded a series of Norwegian language courses, which were delivered by NLS Norwegian Language School to individuals from diverse backgrounds living in Norway.
These courses were designed specifically to help adult learners strengthen their Norwegian proficiency in practical, everyday contexts. The focus was on building functional language skills that learners could apply immediately in daily life, job searching, and workplace situations. Classes covered essential areas such as oral communication, listening comprehension, reading official documents, and writing emails, job applications, and CVs in Norwegian.
The curriculum also included role-plays, real-world vocabulary, and cultural insights to help participants better understand the norms and expectations of living and working in Norway. For many, this training was a vital first step toward entering the Norwegian workforce or pursuing further education.
All courses were taught by experienced and supportive instructors who adapted the content to suit the language level and goals of each group. Classes were held in an inclusive and encouraging environment, helping students gain both language confidence and cultural understanding.
We are proud to have partnered with NAV in delivering these important courses, and to have supported hundreds of newcomers on their journey to becoming active participants in Norwegian society.
