“Vil” is a verb used to express desire or intention in the present or future tense. It is used in the present tense to show a desire for something to happen right now or shortly, as in:

“Vil” can be used in the future tense to convey a desire to do something in the future.

“Ønske” is a verb that expresses a desire for or hope for something that may or may not occur in the future. It is also often used to show that someone wants something that is unlikely to happen or that they have no control over.
Jeg ønsker å vinne i Lotto.
I wish to win in Lotto.
Vi ønsker at de gjør det enklere å kunne betale med mobiltelefonen.
We wish they would make paying with a mobile phone easier.
The verb “ønske” can also be used in the imperative tense. It means “to wish” and is used to make a courteous request, such as:
Ønsk henne lykke til!
Wish her good luck!
Ønsk dem god jul!
Wish them Merry Christmas!
