Language Courses at Hosletoppen Skole – Promoting Early Language Learning in Collaboration with Bærum Kommune

Hosletoppen Skole, located in Bærum Municipality, is committed to offering its students an inclusive and forward-looking learning environment. As part of an initiative supported by Bærum Kommune, the school partnered with NLS Norwegian Language School to introduce Chinese language classes for pupils, giving them early exposure to one of the world’s most spoken and culturally significant languages.

The course was tailored for school-age children and designed to make language learning both accessible and enjoyable. Through engaging lessons, students were introduced to basic Mandarin Chinese vocabulary, pronunciation (pinyin), simple sentence structures, and cultural topics such as Chinese holidays, food, and traditional customs.

Teaching methods emphasized interactivity—using games, songs, role-play, drawing, and storytelling—to keep students motivated and involved. The goal was not only to build foundational language skills but also to spark curiosity about China and inspire interest in international communication from a young age.

Our experienced instructors specialized in teaching Chinese to children and adapted lessons to suit different age groups and learning styles. The feedback from both students and teachers was overwhelmingly positive, with many pupils showing enthusiasm and noticeable progress over the course period.

We are proud to have worked with Hosletoppen Skole and Bærum Kommune on this initiative, and to contribute to the promotion of multilingual education and global cultural awareness among young learners.
