In this lesson, we will look at how to say numbers from “elleve” (eleven) to “hundre” (hundred). First, we will at the numbers from elleve (eleven) til tjue (twenty.)
elleve (eleven)
tolv (twelve)
tretten (thirteen)
fjorten (fourteen).
femten (fifteen)
seksten (sixteen)
sytten (seventeen)
atten (eighteen)
nitten (nineteen)
tjue (twenty)
Let’s now look at how to count from tjue (twenty) to hundre (hundred). We will start by looking at the tens:
tjue (twenty)
tretti (thirty)
førti (forty)
femti (fifty)
seksti (sixty)
sytti (seventy)
åtti (eighty)
nitti (ninety)
hundre (hundred)
The last thing to learn is how to form compound numbers above twenty. Here we take the tens and add numbers from “en” (one) to “ni” (nine). For example, if you want to say “sixty-six,” you first read “seksti” (sixty) and then “seks” (six). “Eighty-five” is “åtti” (eighty) plus “fem” (five).
Here are some other numbers from twenty to one hundred:
syttito (seventy-two)
tjueni (twenty-nine)
åttitre (eighty-three)
nittifem (ninety-five)
førtifire (forty-four)
tjueåtte (twenty-eight)
